Problem

A bicycle wheel of radius 35 cm35\,\text{cm} starts from rest and completes 3.53.5 revolutions in the first 2 s2\,\text{s} of its motion. (i) Calculate the angular displacement of a point on the rim during this interval. Express your answer in radians. (ii) Determine the distance travelled by the same point along the circumference (arc length) in the same time. Give your answer in metres. (iii) Explain briefly why the two numerical answers obtained in parts (i) and (ii) have different units and what each quantity physically represents.
