Problem

A cube of edge 1.0 m1.0\,\text{m} has a point charge −1.0 μC-1.0\,\mu\text{C} at its centre and a point charge +4.0 μC+4.0\,\mu\text{C} located exactly at one of its corners. A third charge of +2.0 μC+2.0\,\mu\text{C} is located 0.5 m0.5\,\text{m} outside the cube. (i) Find the net charge enclosed by the cube. (ii) Calculate the total electric flux through the entire surface of the cube. (iii) Assuming symmetry, find the electric flux through each of the three faces that meet at the corner containing the +4.0 μC+4.0\,\mu\text{C} charge.
