Problem

A stone X is dropped from rest from the roof of a building 80 m high. Exactly 1.5 s later, stone Y is projected vertically upward from ground level with a speed of 35 m/s. Using g=9.8 m/s2g = 9.8\,\text{m/s}^2: (i) Calculate the time after Y is projected when the two stones are at the same height. (ii) Determine that height above the ground.
