Problem

The linear equation y=35x−2y=\dfrac{3}{5}x-2 represents a straight line in the Cartesian plane. Answer the questions that follow. (i) Write the slope and the yy-intercept of the line. (ii) Determine two additional points with integer coordinates that lie on the line and are convenient for plotting on ordinary graph paper. (iii) Sketch the line on a pair of coordinate axes, clearly labelling all intercepts, and hence find the xx-intercept algebraically. (iv) Verify whether the point (10,4)(10,4) lies on the line, showing all working.
