Problem

A thin non-conducting ring of mass mm, radius aa, and charge qq can rotate freely about its own vertical axis. Initially, the ring is at rest in a horizontal position and no magnetic field is present. At t=0t=0, a uniform magnetic field is switched on vertically downward and increases according to B=B0tB=B_0t. Neglect magnetism induced due to rotational motion of the ring. The angular acceleration of the ring is: (1) (a) qB02m\frac{qB_0}{2m} (2) (c) qB0m\frac{qB_0}{m} (3) (b) qB04m\frac{qB_0}{4m} (4) (d) 2qB0m\frac{2qB_0}{m}
