Problem

In a transformer, the current in the primary varies sinusoidally as Ip=I0sin⁡ωtI_p = I_0 \sin \omega t. (i) Derive an expression for the instantaneous emf induced in the secondary in terms of MM, I0I_0, ω\omega and tt. (ii) Hence obtain the rms value of this induced emf. (iii) A transformer has mutual inductance 0.45 H0.45\,\text{H}. The amplitude of the primary current is 4.0 A4.0\,\text{A} and its frequency is 50 Hz50\,\text{Hz}. Calculate (a) the peak value and (b) the rms value of the emf induced in the secondary.
