Problem

Three identical isolated metallic spheres PP, QQ, and RR carry charges of +6.4 μC+6.4\,\mu\text{C}, −3.2 μC-3.2\,\mu\text{C}, and 00, respectively. Sphere QQ is first touched to sphere RR and then separated to a large distance. Afterwards, sphere QQ is touched to sphere PP and again separated. (i) Determine the final charge on each sphere at the end of both contacts. (ii) Calculate the total number of electrons that moved during each contact, clearly stating the direction of flow (towards or away from the sphere). (iii) Using your results, verify that electric charge is conserved for the entire process.
