Problem

Oil (density 850 kg/m3850\,\text{kg/m}^3) flows through a junction that connects three pipes. Branch A carries 0.40 L/s0.40\,\text{L/s} into the junction. Branch B carries 0.15 L/s0.15\,\text{L/s} out of the junction (opposite direction to Branch A). Determine both the magnitude and the direction (into or out of the junction) of the volume flow rate in Branch C.
