Problem

The displacement of a toy car moving along a straight track is given by x(t)=5t2−2tx(t)=5t^{2}-2t metres, where tt is in seconds. (i) Calculate the average velocity of the car between t=0 st=0\,\text{s} and t=4 st=4\,\text{s}. (ii) Determine the instantaneous velocity at t=2 st=2\,\text{s}. (iii) Compare the values obtained in parts (i) and (ii) and hence comment on whether the motion is uniform or non-uniform during the interval 0 s0\,\text{s} to 4 s4\,\text{s}.
