Problem

In a television picture tube, electrons are accelerated through a potential difference of 5.0 kV before striking the screen. Assume that 1.6×10−19 C1.6\times10^{-19}\,\text{C} is the charge on an electron. During a 30 s interval, 2.0×10152.0\times10^{15} electrons hit the screen. (a) Calculate the total charge that reaches the screen in this interval. (b) Find the electrical work done on these electrons. (c) Determine the average power delivered to the electron beam. (d) Express the energy obtained in part (b) in kilowatt-hours.
