Problem

Line pp is parallel to line qq. They are intersected by a transversal rr at points MM and NN respectively. At MM the interior angle on the left of rr is called ∠A\angle A, and at NN the interior angle on the right of rr is called ∠B\angle B. (i) State the positional relationship between ∠A\angle A and ∠B\angle B. (ii) Are these two angles equal or supplementary? Give a reason based on their position. (iii) If ∠A=112∘\angle A = 112^\circ, determine the measure of ∠B\angle B with justification. (iv) Explain why the sum of ∠A\angle A and the interior angle on the left of rr at NN is 180∘180^\circ. State clearly which angle pair property you have used.
