Problem

A 200-turn circular coil of area 100 cm2100\,\text{cm}^2 is rotated at a steady speed of 1500 rpm1500\,\text{rpm} about an axis perpendicular to a uniform magnetic field of magnitude 0.20 T0.20\,\text{T}. The axis of rotation is such that the coil is edge-on to the field at t=0t=0. Answer the following: (i) Convert the rotational speed of the coil to angular speed in rad s−1\text{rad s}^{-1}. (ii) Calculate the maximum (peak) value of the emf induced in the coil. (iii) Determine the instantaneous emf at t=2.5 mst = 2.5\,\text{ms} after the coil passes the position where the magnetic flux through it is maximum.
