Problem

A rectangular wire loop of dimensions 0.20 m×0.10 m0.20\,\text{m} \times 0.10\,\text{m} and resistance 2 Ω2\,\Omega is placed entirely inside a region of uniform magnetic field 0.40 T0.40\,\text{T} directed perpendicular to the plane of the loop and pointing into the page. The loop is pulled out of the field region with a constant speed of 5 m s−15\,\text{m\,s}^{-1}, the motion being perpendicular to the 0.10 m0.10\,\text{m} side. (i) State whether the induced current in the loop is clockwise or anticlockwise as viewed from the side where the field lines enter the page. (ii) Calculate the magnitude of the current in the loop at the instant when the side of length 0.10 m0.10\,\text{m} is just leaving the field region.
