Problem

Three very long, straight conductors are fixed at the vertices of an equilateral triangle of side 6 cm6\,\text{cm}. Currents of 10 A10\,\text{A}, 10 A10\,\text{A}, and 20 A20\,\text{A} flow through the conductors in directions such that the first two are directed into the page and the third is directed out of the page. (a) Write the expression for the magnetic field at the centroid due to one conductor. (b) Using vector addition, determine the magnitude of the resultant magnetic field at the centroid of the triangle. (c) Specify the direction (into the page, out of the page, or in-plane) of the resultant field.
