Problem

Two point masses 6 kg6\,\text{kg} and 3 kg3\,\text{kg} are placed 60 cm60\,\text{cm} apart on a straight line. Calculate the gravitational potential at a point on the line that is 20 cm20\,\text{cm} from the 6 kg6\,\text{kg} mass and lies between the two masses. Take G=6.67×10−11 N m2 kg−2G=6.67\times10^{-11}\,\text{N\,m}^2\,\text{kg}^{-2}.
