Problem

At 20 °C a metallic conductor gives the readings (1.0 V, 0.40 A) and (4.0 V, 1.60 A) on a voltmeter–ammeter pair. At 200 °C the same conductor gives the readings (1.0 V, 0.20 A) and (4.0 V, 0.80 A). (a) State whether the conductor behaves as an ohmic conductor at each of the two temperatures. (b) Determine the ratio of its resistance at 200 °C to its resistance at 20 °C.
