Problem

(a) Define congruent triangles. (b) State the Side–Side–Side (SSS) congruence criterion. (c) Two triangles △LMN\triangle LMN and △PQR\triangle PQR satisfy LM=PQ=4.5 cmLM = PQ = 4.5\,\text{cm}, MN=QR=6.2 cmMN = QR = 6.2\,\text{cm} and LN=PR=7.1 cmLN = PR = 7.1\,\text{cm}. The triangles are placed so that vertex LL coincides with PP and vertex MM coincides with QQ. Identify the three pairs of corresponding sides. (d) Explain why the two triangles are congruent.
