Problem

A body starts with an initial velocity uu and moves with a uniform acceleration aa for a time tt. Using an appropriate velocity–time graph, answer the following: (i) Derive an expression for the final velocity vv after time tt. (ii) Obtain an expression for the displacement ss covered in time tt. (iii) Eliminate tt from your results to prove that v2=u2+2asv^{2}=u^{2}+2as.
