Problem

At junction O three conductors meet. Two of them carry currents of 6 A6\,\text{A} and 4 A4\,\text{A}, both directed away from the junction. A third conductor carries a current of 5 A5\,\text{A} directed towards the junction. Assume an additional current II is directed into the junction through a fourth conductor. (a) Write the current-balance equation for the junction based on this assumption. (b) Solve for II and state its algebraic sign. (c) Explain what the sign obtained for II indicates about the actual direction of current in the fourth conductor.
