Problem

Hydrogen and carbon dioxide gases react according to the following equation: H2(g)+CO2(g)⇌H2O(g)+CO(g)\text{H}_2(\text{g}) + \text{CO}_2(\text{g}) \rightleftharpoons \text{H}_2\text{O}(\text{g}) + \text{CO}(\text{g}) . The reaction was carried out in a sealed vessel of volume 10 dm310 \text{ dm}^3 . The four components of the reaction were put into the vessel in the following proportions: 2.00 mol of each of the reactants ( H2\text{H}_2 and CO2\text{CO}_2 ) and 1.00 mol of each of the products ( H2O\text{H}_2\text{O} and CO\text{CO} ). The system was then allowed to come to equilibrium at 1200 K. The equilibrium constant, KK , for this reaction at 1200 K is 2.10. Calculate the equilibrium concentration of each component of the reaction mixture.
