Problem

A glider of mass 300 kg300\,\text{kg} flies horizontally. The air speed below its wing is 50 m s−150\,\text{m}\,\text{s}^{-1} and that above the wing is 65 m s−165\,\text{m}\,\text{s}^{-1}. If the density of air is 1.25 kg m−31.25\,\text{kg}\,\text{m}^{-3}, determine the minimum total area of the wings required to keep the glider in level flight. Take g=9.8 m s−2g = 9.8\,\text{m}\,\text{s}^{-2}.
