Problem

A circle has centre OO. Two distinct chords ABAB and CDCD subtend angles ∠AOB\angle AOB and ∠COD\angle COD respectively at the centre such that ∠AOB>∠COD\angle AOB>\angle COD. (i) State the relationship between the size of a chord and the magnitude of the angle it subtends at the centre of a circle. (ii) Using the statement in part (i), explain which of the two chords, ABAB or CDCD, is longer. Give reason in two clear steps. (iii) If the two chords ABAB and CDCD are of equal length, what can you conclude about ∠AOB\angle AOB and ∠COD\angle COD? Justify your answer.
