Problem
Two metal spheres, S₁ and S₂, of radii 1.5 cm and 4.5 cm respectively, are connected by a long thin wire and carry a total charge of +12 μC. After electrostatic equilibrium is reached, the wire is removed and the spheres are separated to a large distance. Determine the net charge that remains on S₂. Give your answer in microcoulombs with appropriate sign.
