Problem

A stone of mass 0.842 kg0.842\,\text{kg} is projected horizontally. In an experiment, it travels a measured distance of 12.35 m12.35\,\text{m} in 0.55 s0.55\,\text{s}. Using these data, answer the following: (i) Calculate the speed of the stone. (ii) Using the speed obtained in part (i), calculate the kinetic energy of the stone. Express both answers with the correct number of significant figures.
