Problem

One side of a rectangular coil is 0.10 m0.10\,\text{m} long and lies in a uniform magnetic field of 0.20 T0.20\,\text{T}. The side carries a current of 15 A15\,\text{A}. Answer the following: (a) If the current flows from east to west and the magnetic field is vertically upward, state the direction of the force on this side. (b) If only the current direction is reversed while the field remains the same, what is the new direction of the force? (c) If both the current and the magnetic field directions are reversed simultaneously, what happens to the direction of the force? Explain briefly.
