Problem

A uniform beam is hinged at its left end. Four forces act on the beam as described below. P. 6 N6\,\text{N} downward, applied 0.40 m0.40\,\text{m} from the hinge and perpendicular to the beam. Q. 4 N4\,\text{N} upward, applied 0.60 m0.60\,\text{m} from the hinge and perpendicular to the beam. R. 10 N10\,\text{N} making a 45∘45^{\circ} angle above the beam, applied 0.20 m0.20\,\text{m} from the hinge. S. 5 N5\,\text{N} acting along the length of the beam at 0.60 m0.60\,\text{m} from the hinge. Rank the magnitudes of the torques produced by forces P, Q, R, and S about the hinge from largest to smallest. If any torques are equal or zero, indicate this in your ranking.
