Problem

Two identical metal rods differ only in their dimensions. Rod X has length LL and cross-sectional area AA. Rod Y has length 2L2L and cross-sectional area 3A3A. Both ends of each rod are maintained at the same temperature difference ΔT\Delta T. Determine the ratio (Q˙YQ˙X)\left(\dfrac{\dot Q_Y}{\dot Q_X}\right) of their steady-state energy transfer rates.
