Problem

A scooter is moving along a straight road. Its velocity increases uniformly from 5 m/s5\,\text{m/s} to 20 m/s20\,\text{m/s} in the first 3 s3\,\text{s} and then continues to increase with the same acceleration for the next 4 s4\,\text{s}. Answer the following: (a) Calculate the scooter’s acceleration during the first 3 s3\,\text{s}. (b) Using a velocity–time graph or otherwise, determine the displacement covered in the first 3 s3\,\text{s}. (c) Find the velocity of the scooter at the end of 7 s7\,\text{s} from the start of the motion.
