Two colorless solutions are mixed at 25 °C:
• 15.0 mL of 0.200 M HNO₃(aq)
• 25.0 mL of 0.150 M KOH(aq)
Assume volumes are additive and that both reagents are strong electrolytes.
(a) Calculate the number of moles of H+ and of OH− present before the reaction occurs.
(b) Identify the limiting reagent and determine the number of moles of the species in excess after the reaction is complete.
(c) Using your result from part (b), calculate the concentration of the excess species in the final solution.
(d) Determine the pH of the final mixture at 25 °C.
