Problem

A fixed resistor of 2.2 kΩ2.2\,\text{k}\Omega is connected across a 9.0 V9.0\,\text{V} battery. (i) Find the current drawn from the battery. (ii) The resistor is replaced by another of 1.1 kΩ1.1\,\text{k}\Omega. By what factor does the current change? Support your answer with calculation. (iii) Keeping the 1.1 kΩ1.1\,\text{k}\Omega resistor, the battery voltage is increased to 18 V18\,\text{V}. Calculate the new current.
