Problem

Two equal negative charges −q-q are fixed at points (0,−a)(0, -a) and (0,a)(0, a) on yy - axis. A positive charge QQ is released from rest at the point (2a,0)(2a, 0) on the xx - axis. The charge QQ will (1) execute simple harmonic motion about the origin (2) move to the origin remain at rest (3) move to infinity (4) execute oscillatory but not simple harmonic motion
