Problem

Answer the following questions related to the concept of similarity of triangles. (i) Define two similar triangles. (ii) Is every pair of congruent triangles similar? Is every pair of similar triangles congruent? Give reasons for your answers. (iii) Triangles ABC and DEF have ∠A=∠D=40∘\angle A = \angle D = 40^{\circ} and ∠B=∠E=60∘.\angle B = \angle E = 60^{\circ}. State, with reason, whether the two triangles are similar. (iv) For the same triangles ABC and DEF, the side lengths are AB=6 cm,  BC=7.5 cm,  CA=5 cmAB = 6\,\text{cm},\; BC = 7.5\,\text{cm},\; CA = 5\,\text{cm} and DE=8 cm,  EF=10 cm,  FD=6.5 cm.DE = 8\,\text{cm},\; EF = 10\,\text{cm},\; FD = 6.5\,\text{cm}. Examine whether the triangles satisfy the SSS similarity criterion and explain your finding.
