Problem

Two identical coils X and Y are mounted on the same rotor so that their planes are perpendicular to each other. Because of the rotation, the emfs induced in the coils are εX=ε0sin⁡ωt\varepsilon_X = \varepsilon_0 \sin \omega t and εY=ε0cos⁡ωt\varepsilon_Y = \varepsilon_0 \cos \omega t, respectively. The coils are connected in series. Obtain the expression for the resultant emf ε(t)\varepsilon(t) of the combination and state its maximum (peak) value.
