A 2kg block is initially at rest on a friction-free horizontal track. It is pulled by a constant horizontal force of 10N through a distance of 4m and then enters a rough patch where a constant opposing force of 4N acts on it.
(a) Find the speed of the block at the instant it enters the rough patch.
(b) Determine the additional distance it travels on the rough patch before coming to rest.
