Problem

During a quality check, 8 out of the first 150 bulbs produced in a factory were found to be defective. (a) Find the minimum number of additional non-defective bulbs that must be produced so that the empirical probability of a bulb being defective drops below 0.050.05, assuming no further defective bulbs are produced. (b) Suppose exactly 2 more defective bulbs are unavoidably produced in the next batch of at most 50 bulbs. How many non-defective bulbs must now be produced (within the same limit of 50 bulbs) to keep the empirical probability of a defective bulb below 0.050.05?
