Problem
1. A playground merry-go-round is a circular platform of radius 2.0 m. Starting from rest, it is quickly brought to a steady rate so that it completes exactly 25 full revolutions every 60 s. Twelve seconds after the platform first begins to move, a child standing at the rim releases a small stone.
(i) Calculate the angular displacement of the platform, in radians, between the instant motion begins and the instant the stone is released.
(ii) Determine the linear distance travelled by the stone along its circular path during the same 12 s interval. (Take π=3.14.)
