Problem

A physical quantity is expressed in a particular system of units that uses kilogram, metre and second as the fundamental units for mass, length and time respectively. (i) Define the term "dimensional formula" of a physical quantity. (ii) The dimensional formula of pressure is [M1L−1T−2][M^1L^{-1}T^{-2}]. If the standard unit of mass is increased by 40%40\% while the units of length and time remain unchanged, explain—without detailed numerical calculation—whether the numerical value of pressure expressed in the new system will increase, decrease or remain the same. Give a clear reason for your answer.
