Problem
(a) State the relation connecting the magnetic field inside a long solenoid with the number of turns per unit length and the current through it.
(b) Two identical plastic pipes each 0.25 m long are completely filled by closely wound copper wire to form two solenoids A and B. Solenoid A has 500 turns and carries a current of 2 A, while solenoid B has 750 turns and carries a current of 3 A. Keeping all other conditions identical, calculate the ratio of the magnetic field strengths inside B to that inside A.
(c) If the direction of current in solenoid A is reversed without changing its magnitude, what change will occur in the magnetic field produced by it?
