Problem

For the quadratic function y=ax2+bx+cy = ax^2 + bx + c, suppose aa and cc remain constant, but bb is allowed to vary. As bb varies, the vertex of the quadratic changes. Show that the path formed by the vertex is itself a quadratic function, and that the vertex of this quadratic function always lies on the yy-axis.
