Problem

A sled of mass 5 kg5\,\text{kg} rests on a horizontal snow track. It is pulled by two students who together exert a constant horizontal force of 12 N12\,\text{N} on the sled. A constant frictional force of 2 N2\,\text{N} acts opposite to the motion. The sled starts from rest and moves 15 m15\,\text{m} along the track. (i) Calculate the net work done on the sled during this motion. (ii) Determine the speed of the sled after it has moved 15 m15\,\text{m}. (iii) If the same amount of net work were done on another sled of mass 10 kg10\,\text{kg} starting from rest, what would be its speed at the end of the 15 m15\,\text{m} distance?
