Problem

Let ga: R∖{2}→R∖{1}g_a:\,\mathbb R\setminus\{2\}\to\mathbb R\setminus\{1\} be the rational function ga(x)=x+ax−2,a∈R.g_a(x)=\frac{x+a}{x-2},\quad a\in\mathbb R. Answer the following. (i) Determine the range of gag_a in terms of aa. (ii) Find all real values of aa for which gag_a is onto R∖{1}\mathbb R\setminus\{1\}. (iii) For each value of aa obtained in part (ii), obtain ga−1(x)g_a^{-1}(x) and specify its domain and range.
