Problem

A network consists of a 2 μF2\,\mu\text{F} and a 4 μF4\,\mu\text{F} capacitor connected in parallel. This parallel branch is connected in series with a 5 μF5\,\mu\text{F} capacitor and the arrangement is supplied by a 30 V30\,\text{V} battery. Calculate: (i) the equivalent capacitance of the network (ii) the potential difference across the parallel branch (iii) the charge on each of the three capacitors
