(a) A toaster rated 800 W, 230 V and a kettle rated 1500 W, 230 V are connected in parallel to the same 230 V circuit protected by a single fuse. Calculate the minimum current rating the fuse must have so that both appliances can be used together safely.
(b) If the mains voltage rises to 250 V, determine whether a 10 A fuse in that circuit would blow. Show your reasoning briefly.
