Problem

A square conducting plate of side LL and effective eddy-current resistance RR slides vertically downward between the pole pieces of a magnet that produce a uniform horizontal magnetic field BB perpendicular to the plate. Show that the terminal velocity attained by the plate is vt=mgRB2L2v_{t}=\dfrac{mgR}{B^{2}L^{2}}, where mm is the mass of the plate.
