Problem

A cylindrical drum made of thin metal sheet is open at the top. Its height is 1.2\,m. A certain brand of paint can cover exactly 6.6\,m2^{2} of surface in one coat. (i) Explain whether the top circular face is to be included while calculating the area that needs painting. Give a suitable reason. (ii) Calculate the radius of the drum (in centimetres, correct to the nearest centimetre) that can be completely painted on the outside with one coat using the entire quantity of paint, taking π=3.14\pi = 3.14.
