Problem

Two point masses m1=2 kgm_1 = 2\,\text{kg} and m2=8 kgm_2 = 8\,\text{kg} are kept 24 cm24\,\text{cm} apart on a straight line. Using G=6.67×10−11 N m2kg−2G = 6.67\times10^{-11}\,\text{N\,m}^2\text{kg}^{-2}, calculate the distance from the 2 kg2\,\text{kg} mass at which a third very small test mass would experience zero net gravitational force.
