Problem

A uniform wire has a resistance of 9 Ω9\,\Omega and length LL. It is stretched uniformly so that its length becomes 3L3L while the volume remains constant. The stretched wire is then cut into three equal pieces which are connected in parallel. The equivalent resistance of the parallel combination is (a) 27 Ω27\,\Omega (b) 3 Ω3\,\Omega (c) 9 Ω9\,\Omega (d) 81 Ω81\,\Omega
