Problem

During a road survey, two kerb lines pp and qq are meant to be parallel. A crosswalk line tt intersects them. The measured exterior angle between tt and kerb line pp is 78∘78^{\circ}, while the corresponding angle between tt and kerb line qq is 81∘81^{\circ}. Each measurement is accurate to within ±1∘\pm1^{\circ}. Decide whether the kerb lines can be accepted as parallel within this tolerance and justify your answer briefly.
