Problem

A flywheel starts from rest and is given a constant angular acceleration of 2 rad s−22\,\text{rad}\,\text{s}^{-2} for 4 s4\,\text{s}. Immediately afterwards, a constant angular deceleration of −3 rad s−2-3\,\text{rad}\,\text{s}^{-2} acts for the next 3 s3\,\text{s}. Without doing any calculation, state at which instant (t=4 st=4\,\text{s} or t=7 st=7\,\text{s}) the magnitude of angular velocity is greatest and give one brief reason.
