Problem

A projectile is launched vertically upward from ground level. Its height (in feet) at time tt seconds after launch is modeled by h(t)=−16t2+64t+5h(t)=-16t^{2}+64t+5 for 0≤t≤40\le t\le4. (1) In words, describe what the quantity h(4)−h(0)4−0\dfrac{h(4)-h(0)}{4-0} represents in the context of the projectile’s motion. (2) Compute the value of the quantity described in part (a) and include appropriate units. (3) Find every time cc in (0,4)(0,4) at which the projectile’s instantaneous velocity equals the average velocity calculated in part (b). Show all work leading to your answer(s). (4) Interpret the physical meaning of each cc found in part (c) with respect to the projectile’s flight, referencing both time and velocity.
